	Our Story Our therapeutic work began in Holmfirth, Huddersfield and Wakefield in1998 and came through referrals to us from Huddersfield HRI NHS Ear, Nose and Throat departments and Pinderfields Wakefield Neurology departments. We are currently developing our work to assist people to successfully re-enter the social and professional environment after stroke or brain damage. Stroke and Brain Damage Rehabilitation Through Elocution Our rehabilitation work in speech successfully helps people who have survived stroke or have survived an acquired brain damage. We work with people of all ages and backgrounds and our confidential and professional approach is positive and encouraging. Normally, people are referred to us by NHS hospitals and also from the private sector and many clients are self-referred by their own family members. Our History We have a good track record; normally, within several weeks, service-users make quite remarkable improvements in their speech. Service-users, health professionals and family give us positive feedback on our outcomes. We work with all ages from young children to senior adults and we run the sessions in a relaxed and welcoming environment in the beautiful, natural environment of the Holme Valley. Sound Recordings Our technical director provides professionally edited sound recordings of service-user’s speech as required. The Sessions Partners and carers are welcome to attend therapy sessions. We start with a private assessment which helps us to clarify individual requirements. Therapy is available weekly for 6 x half an hour and exercises are set weekly.
